Lori N. Beals, O.D.
Dr. Lori Nichols Beals has been providing eye care at VisionOne since January 2003, and has been practicing in the Northwest Columbus area since 1990. Dr. Beals graduated from Indiana University in 1986 with High Distinction with a B.S. in Music and Chemistry, and is a 1990 graduate of The Ohio State University College of Optometry, cum laude. She is licensed by the Ohio Board of Optometry, including use of Therapeutic Pharmaceutical Agents. She was an auxiliary Faculty Member of the OSU College of Optometry, appointed to the Veteran's Clinic here in Columbus for 22 years, where she instructed optometry students in disease management including diabetic retinopathy, glaucoma, cataracts, macular degeneration, and eye infections. In private practice she also enjoys contact lens fitting, children's eye care, and refractive surgery consultation.
Originally from Upper Arlington, Dr. Beals now resides in Grandview with her husband, John, son, Peter, and Golden Retriever, Pilot. She enjoys music, plays the flute and the piano, reading, Scrabble and also likes to be outside bicycling, hiking, and traveling with her family. She is working on becoming a Certified Music Practitioner to provide live therapeutic music at patients' bedside. |
Melissa Vetter, O.D.
Dr. Vetter attended The Ohio State University for her undergraduate and Optometric studies. She received the Vistakon Award for Excellence in Contact Lens Care her senior year in Optometry school and graduated in the top ten of her class. Upon graduation in 1988, Dr. Vetter was selected to do a one-year residency at the Columbus and Chillicothe Veterans Administration Medical Centers, where she received specialized training seeing patients with advanced medical and ocular conditions in a hospital setting.
After her residency, Dr. Vetter joined a large Ophthalmology practice in Concord, New Hampshire, where she enjoyed seeing her own patients as well as consulting with Ophthalmologists in the care of the low vision, contact lens, and post-operative patients. Dr. Vetter returned to the Columbus area and worked at The Ohio State University college of Optometry as a clinic instructor to the students, and at the Veterans Administration Outpatient Clinic in Columbus seeing patients and teaching Optometry students. Dr. Vetter has been in practice in northwest Columbus since 1992. She joined Vision One in 2010, but has known Dr. Beals since college. Dr. Vetter has served as an examiner for the National Board of Examiners in Optometry for many years helping to license new Optometrists, and volunteers her time with the Prevent Blindness of Ohio organization. She has enjoyed serving as a judge for the Central Ohio District Science Fair projects related to vision and helping students understand their eyes and vision at career days. Dr. Vetter enjoys seeing patients of all ages, the most challenging of contact lens patients, and treating eye disease. She likes to treat patients as if they were part of her family. In her spare time, Dr. Vetter enjoys snow skiing, boating, jet skiing, golf, reading and running her three children to their multitude of activities. She lives in Hilliard with her husband, Bruce, their three children, Mitch, Tessa and Tory, and their dog, Teddy. |
Suzi Kinstle, Optician Suzi has been an optician for 26 years in central Ohio. She enjoys animals, thrifting, and antiques and restoration. She loves to connect with people and hear people's stories.
